The Silver Bean Café
Spring has almost come into full swing; however, the real spring usually starts when The Silver Bean Café opens – that is something every Peterborough citizen knows. This place is your go-to option for a relaxing dining experience.
Located along the Otonabee River, it sits directly above the water, which makes it an authentic and soothing experience. It is an outdoor café, which makes it perfect in the warmer months, and the river view itself is very beautiful. The slogan of the café is “Your waterfront cottage in the city.” And it definitely feels like a vacation right in the heart of downtown, which creates a surprising contrast.
The quality of service and food is also extremely good, and The Silver Bean even opened a second location in the Canadian Canoe Museum, which operates all year round and allows visitors to enjoy their delicious meals any time of year. However, it is the first, seasonal location that established the vibe, and we advise starting your experience specifically there. Being only a 10-minute walk distance from the GSL location, it is a convenient place to visit.
This year, it will probably open around early May, and we are waiting for this day to come to properly enter the warm season. This is a place that you will love after your first visit, and its convenient location is perfect for any George Street Lofts resident.
