The Theatre on King
Downtown Peterborough is thriving with culture. However, not all venues are equal. Some of them are more honest, intimate and artsy. The Theatre on King is one of those places. Within a 10-minute walk from George Street Lofts, you can visit a place of raw art and an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
The Theatre on King (TTOK) is located at 171 King St, Peterborough. They perform plays, dance-theatre, improvisation nights, comedy, and more. First established in 2013, the Theatre moved to a larger venue at 171 King Street in 2018, which helped it greatly. The stage in the current Theatre is very intimate with almost no distance between the stage and audience.
The repertoire of the Theatre on King is quite large. They are considered more experimental and vibrant compared to other classic venues. As they say about their mission: “Our mission is to enrich our community through inclusive, engaging, and thought-provoking interdisciplinary arts incubation and programming, fostering a vibrant and resilient regional arts scene.” This commitment is reflected in their ‘Pay What You Can’ system, which allows anyone to attend without worrying about the cost.
This is a place that is always alive and vibrant, and by visiting it once, you will probably fall in love with it. The convenient location of George Street Lofts only makes it easier and more comfortable to visit.
