The Heart of Peterborough Sports
Peterborough Memorial Centre (PMC) is a multipurpose arena, serving as a home to the Peterborough Petes (Ontario Hockey League) and Peterborough Lakers (Major Series Lacrosse).
Built in 1956 and renovated in the 2000s, this is a historic and beloved venue for all Peterborough residents. It is seated for around 3,700 people for hockey/lacrosse, which allows all seats to have a great view of the ice or field. There is a restaurant, “Rinkside,” above the ice with full visibility, which serves delicious food, along with many other vendors throughout the arena.
A Sports Hall of Fame is also present inside, showcasing local athletes who achieved professional success, as well as gear from legends like Wayne Gretzky and Steve Yzerman.
Besides sports, the venue is used for concerts, trade shows, exhibitions, and more, making it a full community hub.
The distance from George Street Lofts is 5 minutes by car or a 20-minute walk, making it a very comfortable route. It is one of those places where the atmosphere combines modern energy with historic meaning, creating an irreplaceable piece of Peterborough history.
